{"id":7,"date":"2017-04-06T00:18:18","date_gmt":"2017-04-06T00:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2025-03-05T19:42:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T19:42:26","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-27\" src=\"http:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SDSUhorz_2color-300x60.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"60\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SDSUhorz_2color-300x60.png 300w, https:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SDSUhorz_2color.png 462w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The San Diego State University\u00a0NMR Facility\u00a0is a core instrumentation facility\u00a0operating under\u00a0Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at SDSU, located on the second floor of the Chemical Sciences Laboratory building, room CSL-225.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Scheduling Time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All trained users must reserve spectrometer time using the online scheduling calendar, accessed <a href=\"http:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/booked\/Web\/index.php\">here<\/a>. \u00a0If you do not\u00a0yet have scheduling access, please\u00a0follow instructions on the <a href=\"http:\/\/nmr.sdsu.edu\/index.php\/scheduler\/\">Scheduler<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Equipment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Currently there are 4 NMR Spectrometers on site:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>400 MHz Varian VNMRS: Primary workhorse instrument for routine 1D and 2D liquids NMR needs. Equipped with an autosampler for overnight usage<\/li>\n<li>400 MHz Bruker Avance NEO Nanobay: Another workhorse instrument for routine liquids NMR needs for department researchers and undergraduate courses.<\/li>\n<li>500 MHz Varian VNMRS: \u00a0Overflow walkup instrument for routine NMR needs, and instrument of choice for experiments that take longer than 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>600 MHz Bruker Avance III HD: Primarily used for high-resolution and advanced liquids NMR experiments, and also for routine and advanced solid-state NMR.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Training<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All users must be properly trained and approved by NMR Staff prior to independently using the NMR equipment. The training procedure is as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>New users should visit the New User Training page and watch the Training videos. If the page is password protected. Ask NMR Staff or lab-mates for the password.<\/li>\n<li>After watching training videos, take the NMR Orientation \/ Safety \/ Training quiz.\u00a0 Be sure to create your NMR Scheduler account before \/ during the quiz.<\/li>\n<li>When steps 1 and 2 have been completed, send NMR Staff an email (or visit in person) to schedule time for hands-on training.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>NMR Analytical\u00a0Services for Industry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The SDSU NMR Facility\u00a0regularly collaborates with local industry. \u00a0Due to our simple fee-for-service setup, local companies\u00a0without in-house NMR equipment regularly request NMR analytical services from SDSU. \u00a0Common requests include: routine 1H and 13C spectra, common 2D data COSY, HSQC, HMBC, H2BC, NOESY, ROESY. \u00a0Additionally,\u00a0in many\u00a0cases we collect data on X nuclei including 31P, 19F, 11B, 29Si, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Solid-state NMR capabilities can be made available to industry users\u00a0in some situations, however SDSU research projects take priority. \u00a0If you are interested in solid-state NMR data, you may need to be patient depending on instrument availability!<\/p>\n<p>If you or your company are interested in NMR Analytical Services at San Diego State University, please reach out to the NMR Facility Director Dr. David Onofrei &#8211; chem-nmr@sdsu.edu. \u00a0Please include\u00a0company name\u00a0and a brief description of services requested, and we will reply shortly with a cost estimate. \u00a0Current rates for industry users: \u00a0$80\/hr for routine work, minimum 1\/2 hour. \u00a0Discounts are applied for long experiments. \u00a0Experiments are performed in-house by NMR staff, and a report will sent to the requestor via email.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Other<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Department Gas and Liquid Nitrogen orders are handled by Laura Cervini. \u00a0Orders must be placed every <strong>MONDAY<\/strong> for Wednesday delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Link to order gas and LN2:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1Qof793psNcmfZLgCDY1XoLOJDexs5w6c2rXSDRKmPSU\/viewform?pli=1&amp;ts=64a5fb20&amp;pli=1&amp;edit_requested=true\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1Qof793psNcmfZLgCDY1XoLOJDexs5w6c2rXSDRKmPSU\/viewform?pli=1&amp;ts=64a5fb20&amp;pli=1&amp;edit_requested=true<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Link to view status of order:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1q1YFkA1Ea6Bz_I7mc2SJV_T7Jpv_wsYo2Mn6sSZB-kQ\/edit?usp=sharing\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1q1YFkA1Ea6Bz_I7mc2SJV_T7Jpv_wsYo2Mn6sSZB-kQ\/edit?usp=sharing<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview The San Diego State University\u00a0NMR Facility\u00a0is a core instrumentation facility\u00a0operating under\u00a0Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at SDSU, located on the second floor of the Chemical Sciences Laboratory building, room CSL-225.
